CACHE CREEK WILDERNESS AREA

The Cache Creek Wilderness Area encompasses over 27,000 acres of pristine California lands. It is part of the larger Cache Creek Natural Area, but is fully located within Lake County, providing visitors with a variety of topography, plant and animal life – including a year-round population of the American Bald Eagle and the rare Tule Elk.

Highland Springs Recreation Area is a beautiful 3,200 acre watershed managed by Lake County Water Resources. Equestrians and hikers have enjoyed the beauty and rugged terrain for over 50 years.

MIDDLETOWN TRAILSIDE NATURE PRESERVE

​Middletown Trailside Nature Preserve is a 107-acre parkland on the west end of Middletown, California. The triangular-shaped park sits at the base of 2,351-foot Sugarloaf Peak.
